A song written in 2009 named "Vandeleur" blasted the popularity of the tiny community and more people moved to and visited the area.

It's also well known for the fantastic wild berries growing beside the Vandeleur school house. Accomplished chefs such as Tia, Irene and Cathy in the neighborhood use them in an assortment of pies.

Acclaimed travelers, Kirianne and Tasha often visit the notables of the Vandeleur community. They claim to come not only for the Triliums in May but also the wonderful and always friendly Vandeleur townspeople who you will never fail to see wondering the fields or merrily chatting with the farm animals.

The tobogganing conditions in Vandeleur are no question their biggest pride. From November through February the hairpin hill is in the perfect state between snow and ice. The precision and detail of making the Vanderleur "curve" just right has been a tradition for years. This trail will lead you right to the end of the road to the lovely always rushing with beauty and spirit, Beaver River.

Native legend has it that a giant spider named Esmeralda lurks on the Beaver Valley cliff edge, awaiting wandering children. Children who get too close are pounced on and carried away to the numerous caves along the limestone precipice. Fortunately no known child has suffered this fate, but it is still wise for all ages to exercise precaution while hiking the trails.

A clan war still exists between the west and east valley peoples, allegedly started when a prize toboggan went missing one snowy night. Nightly sled raids are still common, although the livestock are thankfully spared. The hoops and hollers of the clan youth echo throughout the valley along with the burgeoning coyote population.
